Sunday

The first 10 days

On 2nd December I decided to restart my photo-a-day project in an attempt to get my photo-mojo back and get reacquainted with my camera in preparation for having a tiny person to photograph! I should really have chosen a neater date to start on, last time I started on the 4th January. These photos really reflect how how of practice I am with photo-taking, and also how little I am able to get out and about what with being eight months pregnant and suffering with SPD (pelvic pain). Hopefully the photos will improve even if my mobility won't!

Tuesday

365 week 8

Monday 22nd February
I'm still at home in Bristol, as I'm still ill. Leo's room is being decorated which means it's almost empty and very white. Everything in this photo is white, everything.

Whitescape

Tuesday
Back in Chester and feeling unwell again. This is my ugly textured wallpaper that I often pick at when I'm lying in bed.

Wallscape

Wednesday
Less ill, but not back to normal yet. The canteen is the place that I find I work best, better than in the library or my room. I love sitting by the window and feeling the warmth of the sun on my skin.

Shiny canteen

Thursday
Money to pay bills.

Cash

Friday
Finally a day when taking my daily photo inspires me and doesn't feel like a chore. I love getting the rush when I remember how beautiful the world is. The same houses as the chimneys in Day 13, but this photo was taken at the front of the houses rather than the back. I love the layers in this photo. A day of indecision and inspiration. I can't decide between these four photos, any input?

Saturday
Feeling nostalgic about travels and warm weather. In this little wooden box (which Steph gave me!) live the shells I collected on beaches of Mozambique and South Africa.

Box of memories

Sunday
Coursework to do, seem to have spent the whole day staring at this screen. Sigh.

The computer stole my day

365 week 7

Monday 15th February
I am home (in Bristol) for a week which means I get to see a lot of the doglet! I love his green eyes and the way he curls up in a really small ball.

Charlie eye

Tuesday
Shrove Tuesday. Kwojo and I get creative with veggie savoury fillings for our pancakes. Yum :)

Shrove Tuesday

Wednesday
Had a good day meeting up with an old friend (Chloe), but am definately coming down with something and didn't have the energy to take a photo of her. Enjoying time with the furry fellow, but he gets tired too :)

Paw and toy

Thursday
I am definately ill, Kwojo is here to keep me company. That is is hat. Seems fitting as my room is particuarly cold tonight.

His hat, my bed

Friday
This photo sums up my day perfectly, as I spent most of it in bed with my box of tissues never far away. Being ill sucks.

A day of bed and tissues

Saturday
Feeling less ill, and a sunny day helps :) The tree and birdfeeder is in my parents garden, the teepee is in a field. It's been there a while and I'm curious to see it closer (maybe someone lives there?).

Feed the birds

Sunday
Feeling less ill and have the sudden urge to cook! Sweet potato and roasted red pepper soup, yum, recipe (and more photos) over here.

Monday

365 week 6

Monday 8th February
The sky reflected in the windows at the Kingsway (arts) campus.

Sky, reflected

Tuesday
This is my front door. I was waiting for post - dresses!

Waiting at the front door

Wednesday
Working in the studio, which has very high windows. These clouds look like they have been painted.

Painterly clouds

Thursday
I have painted some Valentines cards, and used this tiny piece of tissue to absorb the excess watercolours. It's dry now, and quite pretty in its own right. I sold 10 cards this evening :)

Painty tissue

Friday
Mum, Dad and I visit Grandma, in Kent, for the weekend. This is her cat, Kitty, who likes my Grandma and no one else. I'm not a fan of her either, she makes me sneeze. She definately has a mean look about her, doesn't she?

Kitty cat

Saturday
This elderly bear has sat on my Grandma's shelf for many years. I have been looking through some very old photos, even found one of Grandma as a baby!

Old bear and books

Sunday
Back in Bristol and Kwojo and I are off to another brilliant evening of entertainment from the Invisible Circus. The dress code is shotgun wedding! I love this photo because you can see all these open mouths in the audience as this woman spins around high above our heads on a rope.

Open mouthed amazement

Tuesday

365 week 5

Monday 1st February
The sun is shining as I arrive back in Chester. My walk home from the station takes me along the canal. When I stop to photograph this couple, they swim over to me because they think I'll feed them.

Couple on the canal

Tuesday
The weather is rubbish. I am reluctant to leave the house today. It's my friends birthday today, I hope the sun is shining for her in New Zealand. I like that you can see upsidedown reflections of the houses in the larger raindrops. I later learn that it is also three years since my Grannie died in her sleep.

Houses in raindrops

Wednesday
A note from my Grandma, she has lovely curly old lady writing :)

Love Grandma

Thursday
I walk past this on my way food shopping, it's a lovely old red brick abandoned building.

Vandalised

Friday
Reflections of a fairly epic sky in on of the windows on the arts campus. One month of photos (day 31)!

Sky panels

Saturday
It's a gorgeous day and I'm heading to the studio. The sun glows on this moss that grows on a wall.

Glowing on the wall

Sunday
This is on the back of the card I've painted for the boy.

Watercolour heart

Thursday

365 week 4

Monday
Waiting for my train, and noticing how grand the station building is. More colourful terraced houses, as seen in Day 18. Goodbye Bristol.

Temple Meads Station

Tuesday
His plaited headband, and an owl I needlefelted for him. These little soft handmade things sit on my desk as gentle reminders when he is not here and I am not there.

Little made things

Wednesday
The weather is miserable, and I'm waiting for the bus to take me home.

Waiting on the bus

Thursday
Working in the studio. My brushes are suffering.

Whithered bristles

Friday
Back in Bristol again! The boy and I wait for another friend's train to get in so take a wander and get hailed on while searching for an open coffee shop. I lent the boy my old camera to start his own 365. The moon was big and low and (almost?) full. In real life you could see the texture of it's surface.

Moon

Saturday
Steph, who I haven't seen since Christmas and won't see again until Easter. We are all feeling a bit fragile and tired this morning.

Steph

Sunday
At my parents house the boy takes the opportunity to go online. I love that he stays still for me to take odd photos like this.
