The baby in the mirror

The first time Ivy saw a mirror she immediately made eye contact with my reflection. She was a month old, it was amazing how quickly she found my eyes. It was a while before she started noticing herself. Ivy began to take interest in her reflection before she was interested in other real babies. She smiles at the baby in the mirror.

When Ivy started reaching and grabbing everything, she tried to grab the baby in the mirror too. She ended up stroking the glass instead. It must be pretty frustrating not to be able to grab the baby, so if she can't bring the baby to her mouth with her hand, her mouth will have to go to the baby.

These photos are of the moment Ivy was finally able to taste the baby in the mirror for the first time (unfortunately they are crappy phone photos)(also old photos, taken in June, aged 5 months)
